Used, Professionally Refurbished Moxee K779HSDL RayHunter IMSI Catcher & Stingray Detector

This is a used Moxee K779HSDL mobile hotspot, professionally refurbished and flashed with the EFF’s open-source RayHunter software to detect IMSI catchers, the cell-site simulators often called Stingrays. Unlike the Orbic models, it has no on-screen detection indicator: You check results in the local RayHunter web dashboard. It charges over MicroUSB and needs a SIM, but no active plan.

Before You Order

• Condition: Used Moxee K779HSDL, professionally refurbished, flashed and tested; cosmetic wear may be present.
• Included: Hotspot, battery and back cover. MicroUSB cable, charging brick and inactive SIM are included only when available.
• Before use: MicroUSB charging and a SIM are required; no active plan is required for detection. Battery life is not guaranteed.
• Detection display: Review detection logs through the local web dashboard; this model has no visual detection indicator.

Detection scope

RayHunter analyzes cellular signaling for suspicious behavior associated with possible cell-site simulators. Alerts require investigation: false positives are possible, and no alert does not establish that an area is free of surveillance. Detection does not prevent tracking or protect nearby phones.

Firmware and use

This hotspot is supplied with RayHunter installed and tested. Review the firmware option selected before ordering. RayHunter is an open-source project from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF); STS Collective supplies the configured hardware and is not affiliated with EFF.

Setup and compatibility

Install a compatible SIM and charge the device before use. A paid service plan is not required for RayHunter detection; using the device as an internet hotspot requires compatible cellular service. Check the included-items list above and supply any accessories marked as excluded or available only when in stock.

Moxee or Orbic: Which RayHunter to Choose

Every RayHunter hotspot runs the same EFF software and looks for the same warning signs; the hardware decides how you see an alert. The Orbic RC400L shows a green or red indicator on its own screen, so you can glance at it in a pocket or on a table. This Moxee has no visual indicator, so it suits buyers who will check the dashboard on a phone or laptop and want the lowest-cost way into RayHunter.
