Before You Rely on a Used Raft
A life raft is only as good as its last inspection. Before you carry this one, have it inspected and repacked by an authorized life raft service station, which checks the fabric, seams, inflation cylinder and survival kit and records a new service date. "Non-approved" means it is not certified under an approval standard such as the FAA’s TSO for aviation life rafts, so confirm what your aircraft or vessel is required to carry. It is rated for four to five people; with five aboard, each person has about 3.7 sq ft and 176 lb of buoyancy. For a family flying over water, plan the raft around who is aboard before anything goes wrong. More water and evacuation gear is in our disaster preparedness collection.

GOT QUESTIONS? WE'VE GOT ANSWERS!
It means the raft is not certified under a formal approval standard, such as the FAA’s TSO for aviation life rafts. Non-approved rafts are commonly carried on private Part 91 flights where an approved raft is not required, but they do not satisfy rules that call for an approved one.
Only after it has been inspected and repacked by an authorized life raft service station. A used raft needs its fabric, seams, inflation cylinder and survival kit checked, and should carry a current service date before you rely on it.
It is rated for four to five people. Total tube buoyancy is 881 lb, and at full capacity each person has about 3.7 sq ft of deck space, roughly 18.5 sq ft in total.
It will float and can serve as an emergency raft, but it is not a Coast Guard or SOLAS approved raft. If your vessel is required to carry an approved life raft, this one does not meet that requirement.
It is supplied in configuration R0070-107, with a canopy and survival kit. It is pre-owned, so confirm the kit contents, the date of manufacture and the last service date before buying.
